Guppy Fry Feeding Schedule: Newborn to Grow-Out
Quick answer: Choose guppy fry food that the smallest fish can actually eat, such as an appropriately fine prepared fry food or newly hatched brine shrimp. Offer measured small portions, watch feeding access and leftovers, and adjust the routine to water quality, filtration and grow-out space. Move to larger food particles only when the fry can eat them successfully; do not follow a fixed growth deadline.

Fry are small, but a growing group can change the aquarium’s waste load quickly. Use appropriately sized food, offer modest portions that are consumed, and remove the cause of accumulating waste. A feeding schedule is useful only when it fits the tank’s capacity and your ability to test and maintain water.

First foods and a flexible guppy fry feeding routine
For prepared food, choose a fine fry diet or crush suitable ornamental-fish flakes into particles the smallest fry can swallow. The University of Florida fish-nutrition guide explains why food-particle size must match mouth size. Newly hatched brine shrimp (Artemia nauplii) are another option used in guppy-fry feeding research. That does not make one food or feeding frequency best for every home tank.

Small portions are easier to assess than a large amount left to break down. Keep a simple note of food, feeding times, leftovers and water-test results. Track grow-out capacity from the start
A feeding schedule is also a planning schedule. Fry that grow well will need space, filtration, maintenance, and a realistic next destination. Keep notes on numbers, growth, water tests, and any separation decisions so that feeding does not become disconnected from responsible stocking.
