Live fish shipping rules

Shipping Policy

Clear shipping expectations for live guppy orders, including processing time, ship days, weather holds, and delivery responsibilities.

🐠

Live fish shipping must be planned carefully to protect the animals.

Shipping areas

HiGuppy currently ships live guppies within the United States where live tropical fish shipment is permitted. Before publishing, update this section with your exact allowed states and any locations you do not serve.

  • Orders may be limited by state, carrier availability, local restrictions, and weather conditions.
  • We may delay, modify, or cancel shipping when conditions are unsafe for live fish.
  • Customers are responsible for entering a complete and accurate shipping address.
  • PO Boxes are not recommended for live fish shipments unless your carrier confirms acceptance.

Processing time and shipping days

⏱️

Processing time

Most live fish orders require a handling window before shipment. Replace this with your real processing time, for example 1–3 business days.

📅

Shipping days

Recommended live fish shipping days are Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. Update based on your carrier workflow.

🔎

Tracking

Tracking is typically sent when the label is created or when the package is accepted by the carrier.

Weather HoldUnsafe heat/cold periodsWe may delay shipping to protect the fish.

Heat packs, cold packs, and weather delays

  • Heat packs may be used during cold weather when appropriate.
  • Cold packs or insulation adjustments may be used during hot weather.
  • Extreme heat, extreme cold, storms, holidays, and carrier delays may cause shipping postponement.
  • Weather delay does not mean the order is cancelled; it means the fish are being held safely until conditions improve.
Recommended seller input: add your safe shipping temperature range here, for example "we generally avoid shipping when origin/destination temperatures are below X°F or above Y°F."

Buyer responsibility at delivery

  • Buyer should be available to receive the package on the first delivery attempt.
  • Do not leave live fish outdoors, in direct sun, in freezing temperatures, or inside a mailbox for extended periods.
  • Open the box promptly and follow the Acclimation Guide before releasing fish.
  • Failure to receive the package promptly may void the live arrival guarantee.

After your fish arrive

Follow the acclimation guide before adding guppies to your tank.
