QUICK ANSWER

For an order-specific issue, keep your order number nearby. HiGuppy’s DOA policy applies to the international leg at professional-transshipper inspection; the later domestic delivery follows the transshipper’s own live-arrival terms. For care questions, include tank and water details.

LISTINGS & PHOTOS

What exactly am I ordering?

Will my guppies look exactly like the photo?

Some listings use representative rather than exact-stock photos, and live guppies can vary in pattern, color intensity, finnage, and maturity. Read the image note on the product you are considering. If one visible trait matters to your choice, ask HiGuppy about current photos before checkout.

What should I check before adding a product to cart?

Match the product title to the exact fish count or pack format, then check the current price, stock status, photo note, and any listing-specific terms. Before checkout, also review delivery arrangements and arrival requirements for your destination. The individual product page defines the current offer; the Shipping Policy explains the route.

Why can a young fish look different from an adult photo?

Fry and juvenile guppies may not yet show the adult color, pattern, or finnage seen in a representative image. Maturity and individual variation affect appearance, so use the listed strain, age or size notes, and pack format when choosing. For growth-stage planning, read the Guppy Breeding Guide.

Where can I compare guppy strains?

The Guppy Strains & Types guide explains common trait and strain names so you can compare listings more confidently. Then return to the current Shop to check which products are actually available; a guide describes varieties, not current stock.

SHIPPING & LIVE ARRIVAL

Plan for the trip and delivery day.

Can weather delay a live-fish shipment?

Yes. HiGuppy may hold or adjust dispatch when heat, cold, storms, carrier conditions, or another part of the route is unsafe for live fish. Insulation or temperature packs do not make every route suitable. Review the Shipping Policy for current weather and delivery guidance.

When will I receive tracking?

International orders can have two tracking stages: the HiGuppy-to-professional-transshipper leg, followed by a separate domestic shipment arranged by the transshipper. Check the tracking source for the stage you are waiting on and allow the handoff to be recorded. For help identifying a tracking update, use the Order Tracking page.

What should I do when the box arrives?

For the international leg, the professional transshipper performs the inspection used by HiGuppy’s policy. Bring the later domestic package indoors promptly and follow the transshipper’s own arrival terms. If there is an issue on the HiGuppy-covered leg, preserve the sealed bag and evidence before opening it; see the Live Arrival / DOA Policy.

What is the current DOA claim window?

For the HiGuppy international leg, the current policy sets a two-hour reporting window from the professional transshipper’s physical inspection and verification of that shipment. The later transshipper-to-buyer domestic leg follows the transshipper’s own terms. Check the full policy for required evidence and route-specific limits.

CARE & ACCLIMATION

Give new guppies a stable first day.

Should I pour shipping water into the aquarium?

No. Move the guppies into prepared aquarium water with a net or cup and discard the shipping water outside the tank. This keeps transport water out of the receiving aquarium. Follow the step-by-step Acclimation Guide for the current transfer process.

Do I need a cycled aquarium before ordering?

Yes. Have the receiving aquarium cycled and stable before the fish arrive, with ammonia and nitrite at zero and dependable filtration. A separate quarantine or observation setup is useful for new livestock when you have one. Review the Guppy Care Guide and prepare the tank before placing a live-fish order.

Why can fish look pale or shy after shipping?

Transit, a change in surroundings, and the first hours in a new aquarium can temporarily affect color and behavior. Keep the environment calm, maintain stable water, and observe before changing several conditions at once. If fish continue to decline or show concerning symptoms, test the water and contact the appropriate support or an aquatic veterinarian.

When should I feed new arrivals?

Wait until the fish are upright and responsive, then offer a small amount rather than a full feeding. Remove uneaten food and prioritize stable water during the first day. The Acclimation Guide covers the arrival sequence and first observation period.

BREEDING & WHOLESALE

Plan beyond a single display fish.

Should I buy a pair, trio or fry pack?

Choose the format that matches your goal, aquarium capacity, and ability to manage fish after arrival. Pairs and trios may involve breeding and fry planning, while fry packs need grow-out space; a male-focused format is often chosen for a display tank. Check the exact sex mix and count on the product listing, then compare pairs and trios.

Do you accept wholesale or recurring orders?

Yes. Send the destination, requested strains and fish format, quantity, grade if relevant, preferred shipping window, and expected order frequency. HiGuppy can review current availability and route details before confirming a written quote. Start at Wholesale & Bulk Orders or contact the team.

Can you confirm a strain that is not currently in the retail Shop?

You can ask HiGuppy about a strain that is not in current retail listings. Reference-catalog entries and dated market observations are not a promise of current stock or price, so availability, photos, fish format, destination, and quote must be confirmed directly. Use the reference catalog for background, then request a current check.

Where should an importer start?

Start with the Wholesale & Bulk Orders page and contact form. Include the destination country and city, requested strains, fish format and quantity, target timing, and whether a professional live-fish transshipper is arranged. HiGuppy can then review the route and provide a written availability and shipping quote.
