About this listing

Tuxedo Red Koi Guppy Fry — Pack of 10 contains young fish from a tuxedo red koi line: a red head patch and red tail on a pale body, with a dark tuxedo rear half. At fry stage the head patch and saddle are just beginning to show, and they sharpen as the fish grow.

What to expect from Tuxedo Red Koi Guppy Fry

  • Pattern / colour: koi head and tail marking, tuxedo (half-black) rear body
  • Food: baby brine shrimp, microworms, finely crushed flake
  • Parameters: 22–28 °C, pH 7.0–8.0, moderate hardness
  • Minimum tank: grow-out tank of 40 L+ with a sponge filter
  • Tail and fins: regular fancy tail
  • Unit: fry pack

Breeding Tuxedo Red Koi Guppy Fry

Pair koi with koi and pick the cleanest head markings each generation, since the size of the patch drifts quickly without selection. The tuxedo saddle is passed on readily, but how far it extends varies, so select parents with a crisp boundary. Separate the sexes as soon as males show a gonopodium if you want to control the next generation. More detail in raising guppy fry.

Best for

For keepers who want to raise a tuxedo koi group and enjoy watching young fish colour up. Our koi guppy profile goes deeper on identification.

When the fish arrive

Float the sealed bag to match temperature, then add tank water to it in small amounts over 30 to 45 minutes before netting the fish across. Lights off or dimmed for the first evening helps shipped fish recover; offer a small meal the following day. A two-week quarantine in a separate tank is the safest way to add new fish to an established group. If a fish arrives dead, photograph it in the unopened bag before doing anything else.

Care notes for Tuxedo Red Koi Guppy Fry

Feed fry three to five small meals daily and change a little water often, since growth and colour depend on both. The guppy care basics walks through cycling, feeding and water changes step by step. Guppies are hardy, but they do best in a cycled tank with steady temperature and weekly partial water changes. Feed small amounts twice a day rather than one large meal, and remove anything uneaten after a couple of minutes.

Shipping and arrival

Check the current listing for price, stock status, photos and the exact composition before you add it to your cart. As live animals, guppies are covered by our shipping policy and live arrival (DOA) policy; read both before ordering.
