RREA Lazuli Purple Tail Ribbon is a Japanese real-red-eye albino line with a purple-toned lazuli tail and ribbon-length pelvic fins. On an albino body the purple looks softer and more violet than in dark-eyed lines. The quartet-plus-bonus format gives a breeder a good number of fish to select from.

Tank and water for RREA Lazuli Purple Tail Ribbon

The long ribbon pelvics snag on rough decor; smooth hardscape and peaceful company keep them intact. New to the species? Start with the guppy care basics. RREA fish, like other albinos, prefer moderate light and benefit from feeding spots where faster fish cannot crowd them out. Guppies are hardy, but they do best in a cycled tank with steady temperature and weekly partial water changes.

Best for

For breeders building a Japanese RREA line with plenty of fish to select from. The guide to albino guppies explains the pattern and its relatives in more detail.

Acclimation and quarantine

Equalise temperature with the bag still sealed, then mix in aquarium water a little at a time before moving the fish with a net. Lights off or dimmed for the first evening helps shipped fish recover; offer a small meal the following day. Quarantine for about two weeks before mixing with existing stock, watching for clamped fins, white spots or refusal to eat.

Line and breeding tips

The red-eye albino trait is recessive, so pair RREA with RREA to keep it, and keep the line away from unrelated guppies. The ribbon trait is dominant, but ribbon males usually struggle to mate; use a non-ribbon brother as the sire and ribbon females as the dams. Guppies breed readily; keep strains separate if you want offspring that look like their parents.

Ordering this strain

The original currency and unit are preserved unchanged. The listing was visible on the source page at capture; HiGuppy checks its own stock separately. It is a dated market comparison at strain-family level, not a HiGuppy stock listing, an endorsement of the seller, a guarantee of exact phenotype or a fixed quotation. The picture is a representative illustration — phenotype, grade, stock and seller are confirmed before any order. To order, request current-stock photos or video and confirm sex, size, grade, quantity, your destination route and HiGuppy’s final quote. Freight, airport handling, customs, clearance and destination charges are separate unless a written quote says otherwise. Questions, current images or wholesale quantities: contact HiGuppy.
